Mission Statement
IWCCI was founded and received it's 501 (c) (3) status in June 2000. IWCCI is convinced that through teaching children chess, chess is teaching our children life-skill management and principals. We believe that this is a crucial key to attaining a successful, productive life. It is our goal at IWCCI to build life-skill management, social skills, self-confidence, the ability to reason, focus and make intelligent, responsible, decisions through the development of inductive and deductive reasoning. All of these skills and many more can be taught and enhanced through chess. We envision youth gaining life-principals through this multi-faceted game, a game that impels youth to think. Knowledge does not discriminate, there is not one that knowledge will not embrace if one tries to attain it.
